Sharing the Dream in Guatemala (STDG), a non profit in South Dakota, USA, collaborated with a parent committee in the village of Chacaya and others to construct a new school. In January of 2007, STDG was successful in purchasing land for the new school. UniCafe, a local coffee company, built the school which was opened in October 2008.
